Canada is ready to support an international peacekeeping mission in the Ukrainian Donbass region if approved by the United Nations, Canadian Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Marc Guddicki said Friday
"Our position is to understand whether we can agree on a peacekeeping mandate in order to achieve our main goal, and if that is the case, we will fully support such a mission," Yushchenko was quoted as saying by Ukrainian news agency Ukrinkey
The restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine should be the main task of United Nations peacekeeping operations
The Ukrainian region of Donbas has been under armed conflict since March 2014 between Ukrainian government troops and separatists loyal to Russia
